Macchina 1.X is our first family of Arduino-compatible automotive interface boards. As you can see, the format is the same as the standard Arduino Mega and will accept 3rd party shields. Below is a photo of our initial M0.9 prototype. Note the Green wire (in blue). We learned a lot with this version and carried this to our 1.0 release.
The goals for this board were to make hardened, robust hardware interfaces to a well developed processor. This way, anyone can come along and write whatever code they need for their project, without the need to worry about the physical connections between the car and microprocessor.
